About Us

Loaves and Fishes has always been the heartbeat of daily compassion flowing in our community. Our volunteer staff of dedicated individuals come from over twenty different Church affiliations from all over the greater New Milford area. We have been open 365 days per year, every day of every year, since 1984 thanks to the widespread sharing and caring of our dedicated and faithful volunteers. They truly experience the joy of giving. They help create the caring community we all enjoy with their hot meals, warm smiles and tender hearts.

As you may have heard, Loaves and Fishes is building a new home on Bridge St in New Milford. Our new facility will allow Loaves and Fishes to further expand our role beyond that of being the local soup kitchen. Guest Services will be expanded providing our neighbors--our friends-- the compassion and dignity they deserve.

Our new home will have a community resource room to help guests make positive life changing transitions, participate in programming to increase job skills, and community educational programs and services aimed at understanding and addressing pressing social issues.

We all have a vital role to play in the care of our most vulnerable citizens. Your role can start today. The gift of your time or financial support or will allow Loaves and Fishes to continue to serve our most vulnerable neighbors for decades to come.
